What To Expect

How it works

Sagging facial skin is one of the major contributors to an aged and tired appearance. Dr. Day and her associates will use threads to enhance the contours of your face by repositioning the underlying layers of the skin with patented, bidirectional cones. As the absorbable sutures are absorbed by the body, they stimulate collagen renewal without generating scar tissue. Increased collagen production helps increase and restore volume for natural-looking and long-lasting results.

Each suture is composed of PDO or PLLA, both of which are colorless, crystalline, biodegradable polymers used to coat the suture. These are in the sugar family and break down to sugars. They are routinely used in dermatology and can lead to an instant, dramatic “V-shaped” lift.

How we do it

During the in-office procedure, Dr. Day will begin by marking the areas of the face. She will then gently inject a local anesthetic at the sites of entry and exit of the sutures before guiding the delivery needle through and under the skin to deliver the threads at each bi-directional exit point. The sutures have bidirectional absorbable cones that hold them in place. The treatment is well-tolerated by patients and typically takes about 45 minutes.

Side effects

Minor swelling, bruising, & pain around the injection site.

Time to full effect

Post treatment, patients note that their all-around skin texture is vastly improved. This is due to the effects of increased collagen and elastin production. Full results will be achieved after at least 2 weeks.
